DaBaby real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, is an American rapper and songwriter from Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended and graduated from Vance High School in 2010. In 2015, started off his music career by releasing Nonfiction, his debut mixtape. He later followed this up with his God’s Work mixtape series, Baby Talk mixtape series, Billion Dollar Baby, and Back on My Baby Jesus Sh*t.
On March 1, 2019, Kirk’s debut studio album Baby on Baby, was released via Interscope Records. He is also signed to South Coast Music Group and has a joint contract with both labels. In addition to releasing Baby on Baby, he was also featured in XXL’s Freshman Class of 2019 alongside Tierra Whack, Rico Nasty, Megan Thee Stallion, and more.

However, DaBaby denied the story saying it was a joke. He tweeted: “Shawty was in yearbook club, she got off. That’s my dawg tho. Used to let me drive her car & errrthang.” He later said in a video, “Y’all stupid a** hoes really think Baby used to be married, in high school??”

DaBaby Walmart
In November 2018, Kirk was charged with “misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun” following a fight at a Walmart store in Huntersville, North Carolina where a 19 year-old man was shot to death. Kirk confirmed his involvement in the shooting and said “he acted in self defense”. The charge was dropped in March 2019.

In May 2019, Kirk and another rapper, Don Trag, were scheduled to perform in a Massachusetts night club. Allegedly, Trag tried to take a picture with Kirk when Kirk’s security team viciously attacked Trag.
While Trag’s brother said he was trying to get a picture, Kirk’s security team claimed Trag acted aggressively. TMZ obtained a video of the brutal beating which shows Kirk standing close by, watching. Police showed up and tried to investigate. However, no one cooperated.
Trag, who had been released in his mother’s care, collapsed, and had to be rushed back to the hospital where he remains in a coma.
