Chun In-gee is a South Korean professional golfer. She is also known as In Gee Chun. She currently plays on the U.S based LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Korea Tour. Chun started playing golf at the age of 9 years old. In-gee turned professional in 2013. She has recorded three LPGA Tour wins, on 12 July 2015, she won the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open and on 18 Sep 2016, she won the 2016 Evian Championship and on 14 October 2018, she won the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship. She attended Korea University in Seoul, South Korea, and donates $100,000 annually to her former College (Korea University) through “In Gee Chun’s Student Social Responsibility Activities Program”
In 2015, she became the first golf player in history to win majors on three different tours in the same calendar year. On the LPGA of Korea Tour, she won two majors the Hite Jinro Championship and the KB Financial Star Championship. On the LPGA of Japan Tour, she also won two majors, the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup and the Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship, and on the LPGA Tour, In-gee won one major the U.S. Women’s Open. Upon winning at the 2015 U.S. women’s open at Lancaster Country Club, Chun now upholds the “In Gee Chun Lancaster Country Club Educational Foundation” and makes donations and contributions each year to give back to the community by providing scholarships for students seeking to achieve their educational and vocational goals. She represented her native nation Republic of Korea at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
