Christopher Aurier is the brother of Tottenham defender Serge Aurier. He was also a footballer and on the books with French fifth-tier side Toulouse Rodeo. He had previously had trials at Brentford in 2011, and also tried out for non-league side Stalybridge Celtic.
According to Goal, he told reporters in 2017 about his trial at Brentford: “Brentford were in League One at the time. Everything went well with my trial, but I could not speak English at the time. The coach [Uwe Rosler] told me: ‘It’s a shame you can’t understand my instructions. I’d have signed you otherwise’.”

Christopher Aurier was shot in the stomach outside a nightclub in Toulouse, France at around 5 am on the morning of Monday 13 July 2020. He was later pronounced dead upon arrival at Toulouse University Hospital.
Tottenham said in a statement: “The Club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning. Everybody at the Club sends their sincerest condolences to Serge and his family. Our thoughts are with them all.”
