Chris Parker is a comedian, actor, and writer. He is known for his work on Kiwi Christmas (2017), The Breaker Upperers (2017), Nude Tuesday (2020), Baby Done (2020), and his role as Boyo on Canary in the short film Cradledagger in 2021. He has also appeared in several Television shows including ‘Have You Been Paying Attention?’ in 2021 and ‘The Panthers’ playing Julius. On 3 November 2021, Parker has crowned the Celebrity Treasure Island 2021 winner.

Parker was born and raised in Christchurch. After graduating from college, he moved to Auckland to pursue his acting career. He joined improv group Snort in its early stage, which saw him become a cast as Hudson and Halls|David Halls in the hit stage play Hudson and Halls Live. He won the Actor of the Year award for the role at the Wellington Theatre Awards.

During the Covid-19 lockdown in New Zealand, he performed his show How I Felt, based on his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The show made him popular for his felt attempts on Instagram Live. The felt clips were so popular that, in 2020, a hat that he created was added to the collection at Auckland Museum, and a photo of Parker wearing the hat was bought by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

He has won several national and international awards for his work including winning the Best Newcomer (Auckland) Award in 2015 for his first solo show, No More Dancing in the Good Room, and a Fred Award at the 2018 NZ International Comedy Festival for his solo comedy show Camp Binch. Parker attended Christchurch Boys’ High School. He later graduated from a drama school, Toi Whakaari in Wellington, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting.

In 2021, he was a contestant on the 11th season of Celebrity Treasure Island, the show premiered on September 6, 2021, on TVNZ 2. Parker was representing the Rainbow Youth of New Zealand. On 3 November 2021, he was announced the winner, Celebrity Treasure Island said via the show’s official Instagram handle, “The WINNER of Celebrity Treasure Island 2021 has been revealed!! Congratulations to @chrisparker11, who has taken home $100,000 for @rainbowyouth tonight in the ultimate treasure hunt. What a wave of emotions!”

On Winning the show, Parker said via his Instagram, “I don’t know what to say except NEVER GIVE UP! It was honour to compete against @edna.swart and @lancesavali my life has been forever changed since meeting you both. I’m so greatful to @celebritytreasureisland for giving me this platform and not shying away from the bigger conversations. I’m forever thankful to Ngāti Kurī for letting us play pirates on their land and lastly to be able to give 100k to @rainbowyouth who are the real heroes at the end of the day is an unbelievable feeling. I will never stop crying”
