Caitlin Napoleoni is an American journalist from the Chicago suburb of Crystal Lake currently working as a Weather Anchor for NBC5 News TODAY. She moved to Charleston, Illinois, in 2007 to attend Eastern Illinois University. In her five years at EIU she ran for the cross country and track & field teams and worked at the school’s Emmy Award-winning TV station as a weather anchor, sports reporter and in various production positions.
From there, she began her professional career as a weekend weather anchor/reporter at FOX34 in Lubbock, Texas. There, she got to forecast for an extremely diverse climate that included blizzards, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, dust storms and 100 degree temperatures. As a reporter at FOX34, she covered an array of stories while gaining a huge respect for news journalism.
She is proud to provide a service that people use on a daily basis, especially during severe weather when it could mean life or death. Outside of work, you will find her either running or biking her way around town and spending as much time as possible outside. If she’s not outside, she is probably inside listening to music, watching movies, reading, baking, feeding her pet turtle or crafting. She also loves animals and spending time with her family.
