Boity Thulo is a South African rapper, actress, businesswoman, model, and television personality. In July 2019, She was on Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 list for her contribution to the music and entertainment industry. Born Boitumelo Thulo was born in Potchefstroom, North West, South Africa. She attended Monash University, in Ruimsig, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, where she was studied psychology and criminology. She later dropped out on financial grounds as her mother was unable to pay for her varsity fees.

Thulo went on to sign to a casting agency which resulted in her appearing on a Wimpy commercial in 2010. She made her television career debut when she presented the YOTV educational show “Crib Notes” in 2011. Later she became a co-host on the SABC 1 The Media Career Guide Show, which she hosted alongside Thomani Mahlaba. Thulo also hosted several television shows, including SkyRoom Live, Ridiculousness Africa, Club 808, Zoned, Change Down, and Big Brother Africa.

In 2012, she starred in the drama series Rockville, playing “Mpho Bogatsu”, Thulo appeared in all 4 seasons. Thulo has also starred in a comedy short-film Dear Betty, playing “Betty” and featured in the film Mrs. Right Guy (2016) playing “Marie”. Thulo made her rapping debut on the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa on 21 October 2017 at TicketPro Dome. On 30 August 2018, Thulo released her debut single “Wuz Dat”, which was a huge hit, she featured South African rapper Nasty C.
