Barbara Pravi (born Barbara Piévic) is a French singer, songwriter and actress. She represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song “Voilà”, finishing 2nd. She began her music career in 2014, after meeting French musician Jules Jaconelli. In 2015, Pravi signed a contract with Capitol Music France.

After signing with Capitol Music France in 2015, she released two extended plays with the label: Barbara Pravi (2018) and Reviens pour l’hiver (2020). In 2016, the Parisian chanteuse was cast as a lead in the musical Un été 44, which quickly led to her first EP Pas Grandir and her first acting role in the TV drama La Sainte Famille.

Pravi has since collaborated with many artists including Yannick Noah, Julie Zenatti, Chimène Badi and Jaden Smith, and even co-wrote the French winning song of Junior Eurovision 2020: Valentina’s J’Imagine .

A passionate advocate for women’s rights, the singer-songwriter took part in the recording of Debout les femmes, the official song for the French Women’s Liberation Movement.

Barbara collaborated with Igit to compose, J’Imagine, the winning song at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. At the urging of Igit, Pravi competed in and won Eurovision France, earning the ticket to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam.

Pravi represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song “Voilà”, securing 2nd place, the best result for France since 1991. She told Wiwibloggs that Voila is sort of her breakout song: “I want my things to be heard by people. The thing is, this is the only thing I have. I only have my voice. I only have me, my soul, all my body, and everything to sing. This is the message of Voila. It says ‘please hear me because I only have this and if you are not here to hear me, then I am nothing.'”
