Angela Ponce full name Angela Ponce Camacho, is a Spanish model and Miss Spain 2018. She was born on 18 January 1991 in Pilas, Spain.
Ponce entered the Miss World Cadiz 2015 and won the title. As Miss World Cadiz 2015, she represented Cadiz at the 2015 edition of the Miss Spain pageant. At that pageant, she was unplaced.
On June 29, 2018, Ponce competed at the Miss Spain 2018 pageant and won the title, becoming the first transgender woman to win the title. She represented Spain at the 2018 Miss Universe pageant and became the first transgender contestant to compete for the title. At Miss Universe 2018, she failed to make the top 20 and the Miss Universe 2018 title was won by Catriona Gray.
Miss Universe changed its policy in 2012 that limited pageant participation only to “naturally born” women. Participation is limited to unmarried women who have never given birth or parented a child. There are also age restrictions: contestants must be at least 18 years old and under age 28 before Jan. 1 in the year they participate.
