Andrew Kaczynski is an American journalist and a political reporter for CNN. He is the senior editor and founding member of CNN’s Kfile, the leading investigation team for the social, mobile generation. Prior to joining CNN, he was a political reporter for BuzzFeed from Dec 2011 – Oct 2016. He built a reputation for unearthing newsworthy archival videos, many of which later went viral. Notable scoops include the revelation that Donald Trump expressed support for the Iraq War in 2002 and evidence Kentucky Senator Rand Paul plagiarized speeches. He co-authored an article with McDermott in 2016, which proved that Donald Trump had voiced his support for the Iraq War in an interview with Howard Stern in 2002, despite Trump’s insistence years later that he was against it. Andrew Kaczynski and his wife Rachel Louise Ensign had a daughter, Francesca Kaczynski. Francesca died December 24, 2020, of complications from cancer. At just 9 months old, Francesca fought a courageous battle with ATRT, a rare and aggressive brain tumor typically seen in children under the age of 3. On December 25, 2020, Kaczynski announced the death of his daughter on Instagram. He wrote: “It’s with a very heavy heart we have to tell you that Francesca passed away last night in her mom and dad’s arms. We just posted her obituary.”

Francesa is survived by her parents, Andrew Kaczynski and Rachel Louise Ensign, her grandparents, her aunt and uncle and cousins. According to her obituary, “Francesca showed her parents a kind of love they never knew before and they will never forget it.”

In lieu of flowers, food, or gifts of any kind, donations can be made in honor of Francesca to the PMC Winter Cycle charity event, which donates 100 of all funds raised to the pediatric oncology and ATRT research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
