Andrew Kaczynski is an American journalist and a political reporter for CNN. Prior to joining CNN, he was a political reporter for BuzzFeed from Dec 2011 – Oct 2016. He built a reputation for unearthing newsworthy archival videos, many of which later went viral. He co-authored an article with McDermott in 2016, which proved that Donald Trump had voiced his support for the Iraq War in an interview with Howard Stern in 2002, despite Trump’s insistence years later that he was against it. In 2013, Kaczynski also authored a piece that revealed Kentucky Senator Rand Paul had given speeches that appeared to be plagiarized from Wikipedia.
Kaczynski’s unique reporting tactics have earned him widespread recognition. He was named to Forbes Magazine’s “30 Under 30: Media” list for 2017, and his use of social media earned him many awards, including The Daily Beast’s 2013 “Beast Best” award for his Twitter Feed and New York Magazine’s 13th most influential Tweeter in New York City in 2014.
