Adam Thomas is a British actor and TV presenter. He is best known for playing Adam Barton in ITV soap Emmerdale, for which he won a TV Choice award for Best Soap Newcomer. He appeared in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2016, and went on to co-host the spin-off I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.
In 2016, Adam was a contestant on the 16th series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where he finished in 3rd place. In October 2019, Adam co-hosted the spin-off – I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.
In 2020 Adam teamed up with his brothers Ryan and Scott for six-part ITV travel series Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai where they took their late father back to Mumbai to trace their heritage and long lost relatives, and to see for the first time the country where the brothers descended from.
He also co-hosts the popular podcast series Mancs on the Mic, alongside his brothers Ryan and Scott.
More recently he is known for reprising his role as Donte Charles in BBC One’s Waterloo Road after being an original cast member in the original series.
Adam is a restaurateur, and entrepreneur with the flagship of his brand, Oh My Glaze, being found in the Trafford Centre.

In a post on his Instagram Story, Adam revealed he has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis, a long-term condition that causes pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints. The Manchester-born actor told how his symptoms started with his knees before moving to his wrists, fingers and now ankles and toes. He said his diagnosis came after several blood tests and visits to doctors and hospitals.
“I’ve been in a lot of pain since January, it started with my knees and then traveled to my wrists, fingers and now ankles and toes,” the former Emmerdale star wrote. “I never knew what was happening and finally after several blood tests and back and forth to doctors and hospitals, I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid Arthritis!”
