Organisations like the NFU being forthright enough to support and encourage publications like this is at the very heart of the progress. I applaud and thank them more than I can say.
“By getting on with being a good farmer, I hope to show that being queer and being a farmer is nothing unusual and that the two don’t really have any bearing on each other. However, I also think that there is a place for a bit of prideful advocacy in the farming press every now and then!”

Bake Off contestant Mike Wilkins is engaged to his partner Matt Greenwood, a photographer and digital marketer. Mike and Matt met for the first time in March 2017 at Falmer Bar, a vibrant social hub at the University of Sussex. They plan to get married in 2025. “It is utterly bonkers to say, but I am one of the Bakers on Series 15 of The Great British Bake Off! Sorry to everyone that I have lied to for most of this year, but every time I have been unable to do something, the real reason has more than likely been because I was baking!
“Never in a million years did I actually think that I would ever be writing this post!! I have adored Bake Off for so many years – I have watched every series and I have loved every moment!”
He added: “Thank you to every single person involved in making the show! Everyone could not be more kind, nor more supportive and I am forever grateful! Of course that includes Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison. The judges and Noel are just fabulous! As for Alison, I cried when I met her and I’m not sure when I stopped – she is simply the most magnificent human being alive!! Thank you for everything darling!”
The Channel 4 show will see 12 amateur bakers compete for this year’s baking crown. The other bakers completing the Great British Bake Off 2024 line-up include Andy Ryan, Christiaan de Vries, Dylan Bachelet, Georgie Grasso, Gill Howard, Hazel Vaughan, Illiyin Morrison, Nelly Ghaffar, Sumayah Kazi, John and Jeff.
