She came to the limelight after coming out as transgender during her early teens. Evie was male at birth and was named Tyler by her parents for the first part of her life, before changing to Evie. Talking about her coming out as transgender, she described the process as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and my mom was by my side every step of the way.”
