Yannik Paul Biography – Yannik Paul Wiki
Yannik Paul is a German professional golfer. He turned professional in May 2018. He earned his maiden DP World Tour title at the Mallorca Golf Open 2022.
Paul played golf at the University of Colorado from 2013-2018 alongside twin brother Jeremy, playing in four NCAA Championships and four conference championships and his career average of 72.11 is second in the university’s history only to twin brother Jeremy’s average of 71.72. He graduated with a degree in Business (Management) from Colorado in May 2018.
Paul enjoyed an impressive first season on the European Challenge Tour, finishing in ninth position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings to earn promotion to the DP World Tour in 2022. He burst onto the scene at the Irish Challenge at the start of the year with a tie for fourth place at Portmarnock Links and continued to impress for the remainder of the campaign with six further top ten finishes. He saved his best performance of the 2021 season for last as he finished runner-up at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A. The German finished on seven under par, just one-shot back from eventual Rolex Grand Final and Rankings winner Marcus Helligkilde.
He earned his maiden DP World Tour title at the Mallorca Golf Open at Son Muntaner Golf Club on October 23, 2022, in Mallorca, Spain. Paul birdied the last to post a one-over 72 at Son Muntaner Golf Club and end the week on 15 under, a shot ahead of fellow German Nicolai von Dellinghausen and England’s Paul Waring.
Following the win, he took to Instagram, writing, “First of all, I would like to thank my parents/family for everything they have done for me!! I couldn’t ask for a better family.
“Second, my girlfriend Kaela has played a significant part in my success. She is my mindset coach and since she made me implement a morning routine at the beginning of 2021 my career has excelled. I truly believe that I wouldn’t be here without the mental work that we put in the last 1 1/2 years!
“I am also really grateful for my team (Duncan, Rob, Shauheen, Oli) and my sponsors and friends who have supported me since the start of my career!!
“Finally, all my friends around the world who have impacted my life!! There are so many great people I have met through golf and I couldn’t have done it without all the kind gestures I have received.”

Speaking about his brother, Paul told the Tour media: “I have a twin brother called Jeremy. We grew up playing golf together and played golf together at college and now he plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. We don’t see each other very often but we talk at least once or twice a day. He’s always the first person I call after every round so he definitely has the biggest impact on my career. Our swings are a little different but we play in a very similar way. We grew up together and we practised together and we talked about golf every day so we developed similar skills and strategies.
“I don’t get any satisfaction out of beating my brother. We are really competitive people but we’re not competitive with each other at all. I like beating him one-on-one when we play for fun but if we play in a tournament I want him to do well. Even if I do really well, if he’s not performing I’m not 100 per cent happy because we’re so close that I want him to succeed the same way I want to succeed. We both want to see each other be successful.”
Jeremy played 12 events on the Korn Ferry Tour the first year after turning professional in 2017. His best result was a T27 in Wichita. He and brother Yannik then spent a few seasons on PGA TOUR Canada, where Jeremy’s best season-ending position was 22nd on the Order of Merit. When the Forme Tour was established in 2021 (replacing PGA TOUR Canada for that season as an United States-based developmental Tour, due to COVID-19), Jeremy stuck around in America and finished 10th on that Points List, while Yannik headed home to play the Challenge Tour.
