Susanne Laschet Biography – Susanne Laschet Wiki
Susanne Laschet is a philanthropist and bookseller from Aachen. She is the wife of Armin Laschet, a German politician. Her husband serves as the Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia since 27 June 2017. She became the First Lady of Germany’s largest state North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017. As First Lady Susanne has been active in philanthropic work.
She is the patron of several charitable organizations such as the Müttergenesungswerk, a charitable organization which was founded by the First Lady of Germany Elly Heuss-Knapp. Susanne is also the patron of Aktion Lichtblicke. As the Aktion Lichtblicke’s patron Susanne supports and promotes the organization’s activities, in a statement Susanne wrote; “Since 1998 Aktion Lichtblicke eV has been campaigning for the smallest and weakest in our society. Children and young people deserve our special protection, especially when they are not on the sunny side of life. Social commitment, compassion and practiced charity are the basis of our human coexistence. This solidarity-based idea is also the foundation of Aktion Lichtblicke eV: The relief operation provides neighborhood help directly on site – wherever it is urgently needed. The focus is always on children, young people and their families from North Rhine-Westphalia, who are dependent on financial support due to their individual emergency situation. I am also familiar with such cases from my personal environment.
She added, “The great joy and infinite relief that families show when they can experience a glimmer of hope in their seemingly hopeless situation is reason enough to get involved in Aktion Lichtblicke eV. As the patroness and mother of three children, I put all my heart into it and I am happy to serve this good cause. The Lichtblicke campaign has developed into an important relief campaign in recent years that North Rhine-Westphalia can no longer be imagined without. The thanks for this belong entirely to you, dear donors. Your commitment and active support are the cornerstones of this great success. We at Aktion Lichtblicke are looking forward to further good cooperation. It’s great that you are all here!”
