Steve Wolfson is the district attorney of Clark County, Nevada. Wolfson joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office in February 2012, upon appointment by the Clark County Board of Commissioners to be the Clark County District Attorney. He was appointed to serve the three years remaining on a four-year term vacated by the former District Attorney David Roger, who retired Jan. 3, 2012. In November 2014 he was elected to that position and re-elected in 2018 and 2022. His current term ends in December 2026.

As Clark County’s top prosecutor, District Attorney Steve Wolfson leads the largest and busiest law firm in the State of Nevada. His office has nearly 750 employees, 180 of whom are attorneys and they handle nearly 75,000 cases each year. He also manages a $65 million budget.

Wolfson started his legal career in Las Vegas, in 1980, as a Law Clerk in the D.A.’s office. He then went on to serve as a Deputy District Attorney for more than 5 years and then went on to be a Federal Prosecutor for almost 2 years. In 1987, Wolfson entered the private sector where he practiced criminal defense for 25 years. During this time, Wolfson also served as a Las Vegas City Councilman for 8 years.

Wolfson has been active with the State Bar of Nevada by serving on the Board of Governors, the Judicial Ethics and Campaign Election Practices Committee, and other bar-related committees. Additionally, Wolfson was chairman of the State Bar of Nevada Ethics 2000 Committee, a blue ribbon committee established by the Nevada Supreme Court, to review and bring up-to-date all Supreme Court rules involving attorney conduct.

Wolfson received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from San Diego State University and a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law.
