Stephan Jaeger Biography – Stephan Jaeger Wiki

Stephan Jaeger is a German professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Born in Munich, Germany, Jaeger moved to America in 2006 at the age of 17 as an exchange student in his junior year. He attended Baylor School in Chattanooga, where high school teammates were current PGA TOUR members Harris English and Keith Mitchell. He stayed on at Baylor for his senior year, then went to UT-Chattanooga.

Jaeger played collegiate golf at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he set school records for wins (4), career scoring average (72.10), par or better rounds (69), rounds in the 60s (29), and finish percentage (78.5%). He was a three-time Southern Conference Player of the Year (2010, 2011, 2012), a first team PING All-American (2012), and second team Golfweek All-American (2012). He had two collegiate tournament wins his junior year, taking the 2011 LSU National Invitational and the 2011 Golfweek Conference Challenge, and added two huge victories in 2012, winning the Southern Conference championship and the NCAA Bowling Green Regional. Jaeger was the first UTC golfer to win an NCAA postseason event and only the second Moc to win the Southern Conference title. He posted 15 top-five finishes at Chattanooga while maintaining Dean’s List status all four years.

After graduating with a degree in psychology, Jaeger turned professional in 2012, joining the Web.com Tour in 2013. He made history in 2016, firing a first round score of 58 and winning his first Web.com Tour event with a record 72-hole score of 250, an amazing 30 strokes under par, at the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, California. The round of 58 that included 12 birdies and six pars was the first in the Web.com Tour’s history and is the first 58 in a sanctioned event on the Web.com Tour, PGA Tour, European Tour or PGA Tour Champions. He enjoyed three other Web.com Tour victories, winning the BMW Charity Pro-Am and the Rust-Oleum Championship in 2017 and the 2018 Knoxville Open.

Jaeger earned a place on the PGA Tour in 2018 by virtue of a 12th place finish on the 2017 Web.com Tour priority list. He finished the 2018 regular season ranked 165th in the FedEx Cup rankings.

Back on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2020, Jaeger earned his fifth title on the tour at the Albertsons Boise Open. He won the 2021 Emerald Coast Classic for his sixth title on the Korn Ferry Tour. He finished the 2020-21 combined season atop the Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season Points List and the season-long points list (regular season combined with the Korn Ferry Tour Finals), securing fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR for the 2021-22 season and an exemption into the 2022 PLAYERS Championship.
