Shamcey Supsup-Lee is a Filipino architect, beauty pageant titleholder, and pageant organization director.
She was born in Iligan, Lanao del Norte. At the age of three, she moved with her family to General Santos, where her father primarily raised her while her mother worked abroad. Before pursuing her studies in Manila, she assisted her father on a farm.
Supsup achieved academic excellence, graduating as salutatorian in both grade school and high school. She continued her education at the University of the Philippines Diliman, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in architecture.
In June 2010, she excelled in the Philippines’ licensure examination for architects, securing the top spot with an impressive board rating of 86.60%.
She earned the title of Binibining Pilipinas Universe in 2011. This led her to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in São Paulo, Brazil, where she secured the position of 3rd Runner-Up.
In 2011, Shamcey Supsup participated in the 48th edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant. During the question and answer segment, she was posed the question: “With what worthy cause do you identify yourself and why?” To which she responded:
“I believe one worthy cause I can identify with is valuing education because I think that education is something that cannot be taken away from you. You can have money, you can have fame. But in the end, it can be taken from you. But education will always be there to help you in your life.”
Ultimately, Supsup emerged victorious, securing the title of Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 at the coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum on April 10, 2011. She also received accolades such as Miss Philippine Airlines, Miss Talent, and Miss Creamsilk awards.
On April 15, 2012, Supsup passed on her crown to Janine Tugonon, her successor, at the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 pageant held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.
In 2019, she took on the role of national director for the Miss Universe Philippines Organization, succeeding Stella Araneta, the former national director of Binibining Pilipinas, as appointed by the Miss Universe Organization.
Following her participation in national pageants, Shamcey Supsup took on the role of a judge in the talent show “It’s Showtime” in 2011. After being featured in 18 episodes, Supsup stepped down from her judging position to focus on preparations for her upcoming participation in Miss Universe 2011.
Later on, she returned to “It’s Showtime” as an occasional guest co-host, often filling in for Anne Curtis. Additionally, Supsup resumed her involvement with Binibining Pilipinas, co-hosting and making appearances in pre-pageant shows and final events from 2012 to 2015. In November 2012, she hosted the web coverage for Miss Universe 2012.
Beyond the pageant world, Supsup served as a host for the ANC lifestyle program “CityScape” and hosted the design digest program “Interior Motives” on the Lifestyle Network, taking over from model and actress Angel Aquino. Since 2015, she has co-hosted the talk show “Real Talk” on CNN Philippines.
