Rose Marcario is the President and CEO of outdoor apparel company Patagonia. She joined the company in 2008 as a chief financial officer. After she was hired, she evaluated Patagonia’s production processes and revised them to be more environmentally friendly, by eliminating waste and excess packaging materials.
Marcario has been a vocal supporter of on-site child care, which Patagonia established in 1983. On June 1, 2017, Marcario opened an on-site child care facility at Patagonia’s distribution center in Reno, Nevada.
Prior to joining Patagonia, Marcario served as an executive vice president at Capital Advisors and as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Apple offshoot General Magic.
Currently, Marcario is a member of the board of directors at Patagonia, serves on the board of trustees at Naropa University, and supports the Mojave Desert Land Trust and the Joshua Tree National Park Association.
