Robert Garrison was an American actor, best known for his role as “Tommy” in the 1984 film, The Karate Kid. Rob began his acting career as a child actor in the late ’70s before landing a big role in the hit 1984 Karate Kid movie starring Ralph Macchio.
Garrison played Tommy, the wicked Cobra Kai member who delighted in Daniel (Ralph Macchio) being punished both in and out of the ring. Tommy has the memorable line of “Get him a body bag! Yeah!” which he yells while laughing maniacally during the climax of the film.
Robert Garrison reprised the role of Tommy in “The Karate Kid: Part II” (1986) and “Cobra Kai” (2019). He appeared in the film Iron Eagle and in a number of TV shows, including the classics “Coach,” “MacGyver” and “Columbo.”

Robert Garrison died on Friday after a battle with kidney and liver problems. Garrison’s sister-in-law, Linda Garrison, told TMZ that Garrison died at a hospital in West Virginia, where he had been for over a month battling with kidney and liver issues.
Robert Garrison’s rep, Rick Henriques, confirmed in a statement: “Rob was a great person and ambassador to The Karate Kid legacy. His performance in Season 2 of Cobra Kai, being his last, was simply amazing and he stole the episode. He will be missed by me and everyone he encountered,” read the statement.
Cobra Kai writer-producer Jon Hurwitz tweeted his condolences: “I’m heartened to know how much Rob enjoyed and cherished his time working on Cobra Kai. We were looking forward to seeing his smiling face again this season, as we had plans for Tommy to ride again. But he’ll remain in our thoughts every day as we strive to make him proud. #RIP.”
“I’ll never forget how moved the entire cast and crew was by Rob’s brilliant and heartfelt performance by the campfire. I’ll also never forget the laughs we shared later that night over beers as the gang told stories, including some gems Rob had from the set of Iron Eagle.”

Garrison is survived by his brother, Patrick Garrison, and Patrick’s wife, Linda Garrison.
