Montana Yao (born Montana Helena Klein Yao) is an American model and rapper. She was Miss Malibu Teen USA 2016, and placed in the top ten at Miss California Teen USA 2016. From there she went on to pursue her modeling and acting careers full time. She also has a talent and passion for music. Montana posted her first rap video on Instagram in 2016, which gained her a lot of exposure on her social media platforms. Her rap videos gained in total over 10+ million views.

Timberwolves player Malik Beasley and his wife Montana are facing drug possession charges following a Sept. 2020 incident at their home in Plymouth, MN. Malik was charged with felony threats of violence and fifth-degree drug possession. Malik Beasley’s wife Montana Yao, faces the same fifth-degree drug possession charge.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, on September 26, 2020, Plymouth Police officers were dispatched to a residence located on the 18500 block of County Road Six, in Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on the report of a male pointing an assault rifle at a family. As part of the investigation into this offense, officers obtained a search warrant for the above residence to locate the assault rifle used in that offense and to search for marijuana given the overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from the residence.
Upon execution of the search warrant, Officers located a large quantity of marijuana in the basement living room and office. The marijuana weighed 835.22 grams without packaging.
Officers also located three firearms in the house including a SG Works automatic long gun assault rifle, a Tristar Compact 12-gauge shotgun, and a 9mm Glock handgun. The SG Works assault rifle was located in the mudroom closet and matched the description of the rifle used in the initial call. The shotgun was located in the main floor office and the 9mm was located in the master bedroom.
Yao was interviewed stated that all of the marijuana in the residence belonged to her. She claimed that she purchased the marijuana from a store that sells medical marijuana but did not know where it was located and could not produce any documentation that she can possess medical marijuana. The marijuana recovered was in its original leafy form, which cannot be legally possessed in Minnesota.
