Matt Keough born Matthew Lon Keough was an American professional baseball player. He played for the A’s from 1977-83. He debuted as a September call-up in 1977 and made the All-Star Game as a rookie in 1978. He remained in Oakland’s rotation until he was traded to the Yankees in June 1983. Keough also pitched for the Cardinals, Cubs, and Astros in his career, and also played four seasons in Japan.

Keough was 58-84 with a 4.17 ERA with Oakland Athletics (1977-83), the New York Yankees (1983), St. Louis (1985), Chicago Cubs (1986) and Houston (1986), then went 45-44 with a 3/73 ERA in Japan with Hanshin (1987-90), according to the New York Post.

After retirement, he transitioned to the front office and worked as a scout, special assistant, and pitching advisor with the A’s, Angels, and Rays.
