Marissa Steen is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. She started playing golf at the age of 14 years old. Marissa attended Lakota West High School where she played golf, basketball, softball and was in the band (trumpet). She graduated in 2008. She went on to join the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, from 2008 – 2012 where she earned a Bachelors’s Degree in Sports Management. Marissa competed in every golf event for four years while at Memphis, setting a fair number of records while there. She played for Coach Beth Harrelson.
Marissa played on the Symetra Tour her first three years. She finished the season ranked No.34, in 2012. In 2013, she ended the season ranked 16th. In 2014 she finished No.1 and was named Player of the Year. Marissa finished 1st on the Volvik Race for the Card money list to earn LPGA Tour membership for 2015. She became the first Memphis graduate to play on the LPGA Tour. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2015, unfortunately, she was injured early in the season and just couldn’t seem to put her game back together.
In 2017, she finished T10 at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 12 status for the 2018 LPGA Tour season. In 2018, Marissa made two starts on the LPGA 2018 before an ankle injury sidelined her for the season. When she is not playing golf, Marissa enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, eating at new and different restaurants, and traveling. She is from West Chester, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, United States.
