Marcus Hyde is a Los Angeles-based photographer. Hyde graduated from Manchester High School. He went on to Full Sail University in Florida where he studied Photography and Film. He worked as a production assistant at WTVR CBS 6 in Richmond. It was during that time in Richmond, around 2008 or 2009, that he started seriously taking photos.
Hyde eventually left Richmond for Los Angeles where he has remained an in-demand photographer. He regularly works with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. He has also photographed the likes of Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Jhené Aiko, Snoop Dogg Towkio, and Pusha T and companies such as Complex Magazine, Adidas and PLAYBOY.

Marcus Hyde was involved in a near-fatal car accident on October 29, 2018 in Malibu after working on a shoot with Kardashian and West. He lost control of his Mercedes AMG CLS car while driving on the Pacific Coast Highway and went over an embankment.
Witnesses said the car was completely destroyed after falling 200 feet down from the main road. TMZ reported that the artist suffered several seizures after the accident and was airlifted to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Sourced said Marcus had a female passenger who was hospitalised with him.

Kim and Kanye West donated $25,000 to Hyde to alleviate his medical costs, and in April 2019, he attended West’s Sunday Service performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

In April 2019 at Kanye West’s Easter Sunday Service during Coachella, Khloé Kardashian captured Hyde sitting in a wheelchair in between Kim and Kourtney wearing a church merch “Holy Spirit” crew neck and sunglasses. Khloé also pasted a “God Is Good” gif emoji over the brief clip.

On July 21, Los Angeles-based model and interior design student Sunnaya Nash responded to an Instagram Hyde posted requesting for models to photograph. In the interaction, Hyde requested Nash send him n-de photos of her prior to agreeing to the photo shoot, in which she responded that she didn’t have n-de photos to share. He then said the photo shoot would cost $2,000 if she didn’t send him the n-de photos.
When Nash inquired why she needed to send the n-de photos in advance, Hyde responded: “gotta see if your [sic] worth it.” Nash called Hyde out on his inappropriate comments, to which he responded: “I’ll keep shooting celebs.”
After Nash posted the screenshots, other models began reaching out to her with their own stories about Hyde and his alleged inappropriate sexual behavior toward them at photo shoots. One model, whose name is blocked out in the screenshot posted by Nash, alleged that during a n-de photo shoot Hyde touched her inappropriately.
Another unnamed model sent her story to Nash, claiming that she was a young girl working with Hyde through a modeling agency when he allegedly forced her into a n-de photo shoot.
Ariana Grande took to her Instagram Stories on July 22 to express her disappointment in Hyde and disgust at the situation. “Please do not shoot with photographers who make you uncomfortable or make you feel like you need to take your clothing off if you don’t want to,” she wrote. “If you want to, sick, but if you don’t please don’t. If they tell you you have to pay more money if you’re clothed that’s f–ked and I’m sorry that has happened to you. I promise there are so many respectful, nice, talented photographers out there.”
On July 23, Kim Kardashian West responded to the accusations on her Instagram Stories, stating that she is shocked by Hyde’s behavior. “My own experiences have always been professional, and I am deeply shocked, saddened and disappointed to learn that other women have had very different experiences,” she wrote. “I stand in full support of every woman’s right to not be harassed, asked or pressured to do anything they are not comfortable with. We cannot allow this type of behavior to go unnoticed and I applaud those who speak out.”
