Nancy Margaret Russo is a judge for the General Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. She presides over adult criminal felony cases ranging from minor felonies to capital murder and all forms of civil litigation.
Prior to her election to the Bench in 1966, Russo spent 15 years specializing in white collar crime/insurance fraud, where she was a nationally-recognized expert and lecturer in insurance fraud prevention, detection and criminal prosecution.
Judge Russo is the past recipient of numerous honors including MADD Judge of the Year, POMC Judge of the Year, Who’s Who in Law, Outstanding Alumnus of Ridge Junior High, Mentor High School Hall of Fame and Outstanding Graduate of the Levin College.
Russo has served as an adjunct faculty member and guest lecturer at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and the Levin College, as well as a speaker for various Bar seminars. She is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland 2000 and was named a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Association in 2001. She served as chairman of the Probation Committee and organizer of the Child Safety Advocacy Project.
Russo attended West Liberty State College. After her graduation in 1977, she obtained her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1981 and a master’s in public administration and certificate of non-profit management from Levin College in 2001.
