Jim Lucas is a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 69. He assumed office on November 7, 2012. His current term ends on November 4, 2020. He is currently the vice chair of the House Select Committee on Government Reduction. This committee searches for more effective and efficient ways to run government, saving taxpayer dollars.

Prior to joining the Indiana House of Representatives, Lucas served on the Seymour City Council. He also remains active in the community as a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, is a life-long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, and owns The Awning Guy, Inc.
