Jessica Starr was a meteorologist for Fox 2 Detroit. She was a Michigan native, born in Southfield and raised in Commerce Township.
Starr went to high school at Walled Lake Central. She received two meteorology degrees from Michigan State University and Mississippi State University.
She started her TV career at WLNS-Channel 6 in Lansing, Michigan as the Weekend Meteorologist. While working in Lansing she also traveled nationwide working as an Auto Show Model/Product Specialist.
Prior to joining FOX 2, she was the Weekend Meteorologist and Feature Reporter at WBFF-FOX 45 in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Feature Reporter, she covered numerous community events from roller skating with the Charm City Roller Girls to promoting local bands raising money for breast cancer awareness.

Fox 2 Detroit wrote on its website, “Last night we were informed of the heartbreaking news that our friend and colleague, meteorologist Jessica Starr took her life. All of us here at FOX 2 are in deep shock and cannot believe that such a wonderful, bright and intelligent individual will no longer be with us. Her family and friends will be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days as we all deal with our grief.”
