Jael Strauss was an American film actor and former America’s Next Top Model contestant. She was born on July 3, 1984 in Detroit, Michigan, United States.
Strauss competed in the eighth season of America’s Next Top Model in 2007 and finished sixth. The show was won by Jaslene González, a Puerto Rican model, television host.
She was at one point signed with Otto Models and also had her own clothing line with Hitch Couture. As of 2012, Strauss was reported to be battling methamphetamine addiction. Appearing on the Dr. Phil show on September 13, 2012, she discussed her struggle with addiction. She made a full recovery and modeled for HeartWater and The Legging Project in 2017.

It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable. With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it. I don’t want to die. I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013.”
In October 2018, a GoFundMe page was set up for Jael by her friends Melissa Lebet, Cody Haynes and Sarah Covey to fund her treatment.
A statement on the GoFundMe page, read: “At the end of September, Jael became very sick and was diagnosed with aggressive Stage IV Rapidly Progressive Metastatic Inflammatory Breast Cancer. It has metastasized and spread beyond the breast tissue. She has just begun chemo, but we do not know how things will play out. What we do know is that Jael is putting all of her energy and drive into fighting this insidious disease and can use as much support and love as possible.”
According to TMZ, she chose to stop having chemotherapy around Halloween and entered into a hospice on Thanksgiving.
