Howie Gordon is a meteorologist at KTUU in Anchorage, Alaska. He became part of the Channel 2 Weather team in October 2017 as a fill-in Meteorologist and was quickly promoted to KTUU’s Morning Edition team. He is also a reality television personality and former contestant from the American version of the CBS reality show Big Brother. He competed in the sixth and All-Star seasons.
He moved to Anchorage from Joplin, Missouri where he worked as a full-time Meteorologist at KODE-TV from 2015-2017. There, he also served as a fill-in Morning Co-Anchor and hosted creative, personality-driven, feature segments like “Big Howie on Campus” and the “Big Howie Challenge.” He went to school at the University of South Florida in Tampa and later earned his Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University in 2009. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Science-Meteorology and a minor in Physical Science from Mississippi State.
He is a member of the John A. Logan College Vice President’s Club in Illinois, a guest speaker at various conferences and fundraisers, and has appeared in a number of movies, commercials, and television shows, including season six of “Big Brother” in 2005.
