Heather Waldman is an American AMS Certified meteorologist at WGRZ in Buffalo, New York. She is working as a weekend meteorologist on WGRZ-TV Channel 2 News. Similarly, she has appeared on Fox Business, ABC World News, The Big10 Network, ESPN, and the SEC Network.
She has previously worked at AccuWeather as a forecasting intern (2013) and as broadcast meteorologist (2014-2016), Sony (2013), and NBC 10 – WCAU IN 2012.
She moved to the Buffalo area in January 2017 after spending three years broadcasting the national forecast with The AccuWeather Network in State College, Pennsylvania.
She earned her CBM from the American Meteorological Society in 2014 and then her Broadcaster Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association in 2015. She is a full-time member of both organizations. In 2018, Heather won an Edward R. Murrow Award in Innovation for her work on a story that relived Buffalo’s infamous “Blizzard of ’77”.
A self-declared “weather geek”, she also produces a weekly weather segment for WGRZ’s social media pages called “Heather’s Weather Whys” where she answers viewer questions about all things weather every Wednesday evening.
She loves Western New York’s varying seasons and she’s often outside enjoying whatever the weather brings by running, hiking, skiing and rock climbing. When conditions are a little too intense, she enjoys reading a good book or brewing a cup of tea and snuggling up with her cat, Albus. She’s also a passionate college football fan and loves to cheer on her Nittany Lions.
