Gavin Greene is the son of Kevin Greene, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2016. Gavin Greene is a 6-1 Inside Linebacker from Niceville, FL. He attended Niceville High School. He played for head coach John Hicks at Niceville High School. As a senior during the 2015 season, he had 118 tackles (49 solo), including five sacks, and forced two fumbles, credited with two quarterback hurries. He was an Honorable mention Class 6A All-State Elite Team selection by FloridaHSFootball.com. He was named to the Subway All-Star Team in 2016.

On Apr 7, 2016, he committed to Southern Miss Golden Eagles, according to his High School Scouting Report. As a freshman in 2016, he did not see game action.
