Eric Chien is an award-winning Taiwanese magician. He specializes in performing close-up magic tricks, an illusion style that includes card tricks, coin tricks, or tricks involving other small objects.
Eric Chien won the Grand Prix Close-up at the 2018 FISM World Championships of Magic taking place in Busan, South Korea, from July 9 through July 14, was the first Taiwanese and also the first Asian magician to have claimed the honor in the triennial competition dubbed the “Oscars of the Magic Circle” since the inception of the International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM) in 1948.
FISM is a worldwide confederation of magic societies that holds the World Championship of Magic in both a stage discipline and a table-top or ‘close-up’ discipline every three years. The location for each World Championship of Magic is bid for and voted on by the membership.
