David Cox is a Scottish professional footballer. Cox plays as a forward for Albion Rovers football club. Previously, Cox played for several football clubs including Kilmarnock, Montrose, Annan Athletic, Alloa Athletic, Peterhead, Airdrieonians, Forfar Athletic, and Cowdenbeath.
Cox started his professional football career with Scottish side Kilmarnock Football Club. On May 10, 2008, Cox made his first-team debut, at the age of 19 years. In his debut match, Kilmarnock won 2-0 against Hearts in the Scottish Premier League. In January 2009, he left Kilmarnock and on May 10, 2012, signed a two-year contract with the Scottish side Annan Athletic Football Club.
At the end of 2012, Cox signed for Peterhead on loan, he later signed a permanent transfer deal on January 12, 2013. Cox played for Peterhead for two and a half years. He then signed with Scottish League One side Airdrieonians in June 2015. Cox later left and signed for Forfar Athletic.
In January 2018, he was signed by Cowdenbeath.
