Charlotte Pownall was a celebrity hairdresser. Pownall was highly regarded in the local hair and make-up industry and her clients included high profile western suburbs socialites such as Samantha Wyllie, Lissy Graham, and Love Island contestant Tayla Damir.
She was the hairstylist for the wedding of TV stars Sam Wood and his wife, former Perth woman Snezana, from The Bachelor.
Pownall worked for close friend Shane Dias at his Claremont salon before branching out on her own in 2019 through the TxC Colab creative space for freelance hairstylists and make-up artists in Subiaco.

Pownall died on Saturday. She was 26. Her death was confirmed by her former employer, Shane Dias in an Instagram post. Shane Dias said, “It’s with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Charlotte, we were so saddened to hear the awful news of her passing. You were one of a kind Charlotte; smart, beautiful, brave, selfless. You lived your life to the fullest; even though it’s been cut incredibly short.”
Fashion director Samantha Wylie wrote in an Instagram post, “Your beauty shone from within and we are all lucky to have had the time with you we had. Taken far too young it’s hard to understand why! The best die young they say and girl you are most definitely one of “The Best”.”
