Brian McConchie is an American journalist and the 10pm news anchor and managing editor at WACH FOX. He has been a fixture in Columbia for more than a decade covering both news and sports across the Midlands. During that time he has been honored with multiple honors including two Edward R. Murrow awards and multiple Associated Press awards for his work in both news and sports reporting.
Before arriving in Columbia in 2001, he worked as a news reporter in Southwest Georgia. His last assignment at his station there turned into one of the most exciting months of his career when he covered the 2000 Presidential recount in Tallahassee, Florida. The journalist is also very active in the community, volunteering his time throughout the year to Columbia’s Ronald McDonald House, the Alzheimer’s Association and other Midlands organizations.
He went to school at the Holy Cross, a private Jesuit liberal arts college in Worcester, Massachusetts.
