My last day on air will be this Wednesday [Dec 23, 2020]. Thank you to our viewers and to CBS46 for this incredible journey which is propelling me to my next step.”
“Thank you all for making Atlanta such a beautiful experience,” she continued. “I grew as a person and as a professional. My dreams came true here with the creation of Astrid in the Atl, interviewing everyone you can imagine actors, singers, activists, and personal heroes from Eva Longoria, Oprah to Roberto DeNiro, Rita Moreno to the great late John Lewis. I’m forever in debt to this city and I hope I’ve served you well.”
In a text to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Martinez said she requested to expand her skill set by doing fill-in anchoring. They turned her down, saying she was great at live reporting.
