Ashun Wu is a Chinese professional golfer. He started playing golf at the age of 17 and learned the game from his brother, a single-digit handicapper. Wu turned professional in 2007.
The Chinese golfer played on the Japan Golf Tour in 2010 and from 2012 to 2015. A trailblazer for Chinese golf, Wu was the first Chinese player to win on the Japan Golf Tour with his win at the 2012 Toshin Golf Tournament in Ryosen. In November 2013, he won the Heiwa PGM Championship for his second Japan Golf Tour title.
Wu was also the first Chinese player to win on home soil in a European Tour event when he captured the 2015 Volvo China Open. Since his maiden triumph, he has collected wins at the 2016 Lyoness Open and the 2018 KLM Open, which made him the first Chinese player to win three times on the European Tour.
He returned to the winner’s circle after a three-and-a-half-year absence, winning his fourth title at the 2022 Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa.
