According to authorities, they were alerted to the incident on social media and by the ex-girlfriend. According to an arrest report obtained by the Miami Herald, Davis grabbed the woman by the shirt with his right hand, close to her throat. (Davis) dragged the victim by her shirt to a separate room located at the southeast corner of the basketball court. The woman had injuries to a lip and her left jaw.
According to Kelly Denham, Coral Gables spokeswoman, after reviewing the video, officers interviewed the victim and Davis and then decided on the charge. Davis turned himself in to Coral Gables police on Tuesday. He is charged with simple battery and domestic violence.
After the incident, Davis said in a since-deleted post on his Instagram story, “I never once hit her. Yeah I was aggressive and told her come on. That’s the mother of my child, I would never hurt her other than that happy New Years… January was trash.”
