Ajaz Patel is an Indian-born New Zealand professional cricketer. He plays domestic cricket for The Central Stags (Central Districts) and the New Zealand national cricket team. On December 4, 2021, during the second test match against India, he became the third bowler to take all ten wickets in an innings in Test cricket after James Charles Laker of England and Anil Kumble of India.

The India-born cricketer made his List A cricket debut during the 2015–2016 Ford Trophy on December 27, 2015. For the 2015–2016 Plunket Shield season, he took the most wickets with 43 dismissals. The following year, the 2016- 2017 season Ajaz led the wicket-taker with 44 dismissals. In April 2018, he won the Men’s Domestic Player of the Year award at the New Zealand Cricket Awards. During the 2017–2018 Plunket Shield season, Ajaz led the wicket-taker, after recording 48 dismissals in nine matches. He later received an offer to sign with The Central Stags for the 2018–19 season.

Ajaz started his International career in 2018 after he was named in New Zealand’s Test squad for their series against Pakistan in July 2018. In October 2018, he was named in New Zealand’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad, and for their series against Pakistan. On October 31, 2018, he made his T20I debut for New Zealand against Pakistan. On November 16, 2018, he made his Test debut for New Zealand against Pakistan. Ajaz took 5 wickets in the second innings, and helped New Zealand to record a win by four runs, he was named the man of the match. In August 2021, he was named in New Zealand’s ODI squad for their Pakistan tour.
