Mick Norcross was The Only Way Is Essex star and Essex businessman. He was best known as the father of Kirk Norcross and the owner of the celebrity nightspot the Sugar Hut in Brentwood.

Norcross made his TOWIE debut in 2011 on season two of the series where he was introduced as the owner of Sugar Hut – a nightclub in Brentwood. He starred in 53 episodes before leaving the show. In 2013, he left the show saying he feared reality television was denting the reputation of his club. He told the Sun: “My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled. All these rows they keep filming don’t show the club in a good light and I’m worried it’s putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want.’

Mick also worked as a property developer and he enjoyed collecting antiques. A couple of years ago, Mick was working on the Grand, in Leigh. He told the Echo: “Right now we are doing a soft demolition inside the building and underpinning the building itself, getting it into shape ready for its next 100 years of life. I’m also building 19 large executive homes in Bulphan, the village where I live. And I’ve now just started another site with six executive homes as well. So, I’m building 25 homes in Bulphan, with a gross development value of circa 45million quid. So, it’s a big project. As well as, the Sugar Hut, and that’s a moving target at all times.”

Norcross died suddenly at the age of 57. His body was found at his home in Bulphan, Essex. An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called to an address in Brentwood Road, Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday 21 January. Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
