Zachery Ty Bryan (born Zachery Tyler Bryan) is an American actor and film producer. He is best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the American sitcom Home Improvement and his film appearances in True Heart (1999) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).
After his appearance on Home Improvement, Bryan went on to appear in small roles in a variety of hit TV shows including Burn Notice, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Veronica Mars. In 2009, Bryan appeared on the big screen in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift as a villain. He officially retired from acting in 2009.

Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested on October 16, 2020, on suspicion of assault and strangulation against his girlfriend in his apartment complex in Eugene, Oregon. He was arrested after neighbours called police to report an altercation. When officers arrived, they found Bryan sitting outside his apartment and his girlfriend was hiding at a friend’s home nearby. The Eugene Police Department said, Bryan reportedly had assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and took her phone away when she tried to call 911.
A rep for the Eugene Police Department issued the following statement to ET following the arrest: “On October 16, 2020, at approximately 10:24 p.m. Eugene Police officers were dispatched to report of a physical dispute at a north Eugene home after neighbors called. Officers arrived and found a man, later identified as Zachery Ty Bryan, age 39, of Eugene, sitting outside an apartment. The victim, age 27, was at a neighboring apartment. An investigation found that during the dispute Bryan is reported to have assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and taken the victim’s phone from her when she tried to call 911. The two have been in a relationship. The victim declined medics. Bryan was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Strangulation (APA), Assault in the Fourth Degree (APA), and Interfering with Making a Report.”
