Will Axon Biography – Will Axon Wiki

Will Axon, born William Axon, is an auctioneer and valuer, antiques expert on BBC’s Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. He currently works as a senior auctioneer and valuer for Rowley’s Antiques and Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Will previously worked as a senior valuer and auctioneer for Tennants Auctioneers as well as a valuer and auctioneer for Cheffins.

Hailing from the home of horse racing, Will’s first career choice was to become a jockey. However, he didn’t quite make the cut and took up the antique trade instead. He is passionate about English country furniture, furnishings and pottery.

Will has always had an appreciation for fine art and antiques, studying History of Art & Design at the London Institute Camberwell College of Arts before earning a Master’s degree in Art Market Appraisal (Professional Practice) at Kingston University. He studied Architecture at Oxford Brookes University from 1992 to 1993.

Will has worked for a number of auction houses in different guises, but nowadays wields the gavel. Admittedly a bit of a hoarder, Will still collects paintings by unknown artists and cracks or chips china for his ‘study’ collection.

Will Axon Flog It!

Will Axon is an antiques expert on BBC’s Flog It! presented by Paul Martin. Some of the experts that have featured on the show include Raj Bisram, Kate Bliss, James Braxton, Anita Manning and Natasha Raskin Sharp.

Speaking about his experiences of being on Flog it!, Will said in an interview with Kingston University: “Filming Flog it! and working with the BBC is great fun. It gets me out of the office, takes me to places I haven’t had the chance to visit before, and is a great way of building up professional contacts with other valuers and auctioneers!

“It’s a long old day when we’re filming though, as we regularly get several hundred people queuing up to show us their treasures – and Flog it! promises to see every single person who makes the effort to come to one of our valuation days and give them a valuation for the pieces they’ve brought.

“Another highlight of being in Flog it! is the variety of people you meet from all walks of life and the stories they have about the pieces they’ve brought. In fact, sometimes the stories can be more fascinating than the items themselves and we’re just as interested in the story or history behind an object as its value!”
