Victor Ng is a contestant on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2025. Originally from Hong Kong, Victor and his family moved to Vancouver when he was 7 years old. After completing a Business degree from Simon Fraser University, he quickly switched to Design which unlocked a creative streak he’d never explored before.

In 2021, Victor moved to London where he spends his days designing prototype virtual reality apps, and his spare time cooking or running or catching up with friends. His pottery journey began back in 2019 in Vancouver and discovered the Turning Earth studio, a local pottery community nestled within the charming neighborhood of Hoxton.

The potter is the owner of Victor Ng Ceramics, a ceramic vase shop based in East London. According to his LinkedIn, he is currently a product designer for Meta in London. He had stints at Facebook AI as a AI Product Design Intern, IBM as a UX/UI Design Intern, Accenture as an Analyst, SAP as n Operations Analyst Intern, and Repsol as an IT Infrastructure Intern.

Victor Ng graduated from Simon Fraser University with Bachelor of Business Administration – BBA, Management Information Systems. He went on to graduate from University of Waterloo with Masters of Arts in Digital Experience Innovation and Design.

31-year-old Victor Ng is a contestant in Series 8 of The Great Pottery Throw Down, hosted by Siobhan McSweeney. The show follows 12 budding potters as they compete in the challenges set by judges Richard Miller and Keith Brymer Jones. They will be joined this series by new studio technician Princess Fingall, who was a contestant in series 7 of the show.

Victor announced the news on Instagram, writing: “Hey Mom, I’m going to be on TV! As I sit here reflecting on my journey, I’m still in awe of how life has taken me from a backyard potter in Canada during the lockdowns to a potter on The Great Pottery Throw Down after moving to London 🇬🇧.

“I was obsessed with the show when I first started and never thought I’d be a part of it. Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated countless hours to perfecting my craft, selling my pots on Brick Lane, and eventually setting up an online store.

“I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this pottery journey. Your encouragement, and support of my craft have meant the world to me.

“Get ready to tune in to the first episode of The Great Pottery Throw Down – Season 8 on January 5th at 7:45 pm BST on Channel 4! I’m beyond excited to share this experience with all of you.”

The Great Pottery Throw Down 2025 contestants are Victor Ng, Steve Brown, Stephen Parkes, Olivia Rowan, Natalie Dawn Sims Rees, James Stanley Watson, Imy Kiara Harris, Hayley Rowlands, Francesca Dourado, Chris Parkes, Diana and Jonathan. The Great Pottery Throw Down starts Sunday 5th January at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
