Tommy Callaway is the man who slapped Georgia reporter, Alex Bozarjian, on the behind on live TV while she was covering a race at the annual Savannah Bridge Run on Saturday. He is a youth minister and boy scout leader.

Callaway responded to the tweet in an interview with “Inside Edition,” saying, “I totally agree 100 % with her statement and the two most important words were her last two words, ‘do better.’ And that’s my intention,” he said. “I did not see her facial reaction as I just kept on running. If I did see her facial reaction, I would have felt embarrassed and ashamed and stopped and turned around to apologize to her.”
Robert Wells, director of the Savannah Sports Council, which hosted the race, responded to the incident writing on Twitter, “This will not be tolerated at our events. Glad we have race bibs and photos for easy identification.” Wells added in another tweet, “Alex, what happened today is 100% unacceptable. You have my assurance we will identify him.”
Bozarjian told “CBS This Morning” on Tuesday, “It’s not okay to help yourself to a woman’s body just because you feel like it… in order to make any kind of change, you have to be a little bit drastic. And you have to… chip away at this toxic culture that permeates our society.”

She filed a police report on the incident Monday, and the man, Tommy Callaway, was banned from future Savannah Sports Council races. On Wednesday, she said she supports criminal charges being filed against Callaway.
Bozarjian said in a statement to CBS News, “I want to make it clear that this doesn’t mean I can’t/won’t forgive him. I hope to get to that point eventually, but as in any sexual assault case, it has to be on my terms when I’m ready.”
Tommy Callaway said in an Interview with Inside Edition, “I was caught up in the moment,” he told Inside Edition. “I was getting ready to bring my hands up and wave to the camera to the audience, there was a misjudge in character and decision-making. I touched her back; I did not know exactly where I touched her.”
Callaway’s attorney W. Joseph Turner said in a statement that his client “did not act with any criminal intentions.”
