Tom Bernthal is the founder and CEO of Kelton Global, an insights and strategy consultancy that helps global “companies use the power of data-backed storytelling to change behavior, motivate internal teams, and create strong bonds between brand and customer.”

He founded Kelton to bring a journalist’s eye for the human story to the world of insights and marketing. He has worked with major companies including Google, Nike, Target, Amazon, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Facebook, General Electric, Whole Foods, Harley-Davidson, and more than 100 of the Fortune 500.

Bernthal previously worked as a television producer at NBC news, and at the White House while Bill Clinton was president. At NBC, Tom produced for Brian Williams and won an Emmy for “100 Days, 1000 Voices” during the 2000 presidential campaign. He won three Emmy Awards as a producer at NBC News and opened a West Coast office for an Omnicom-held agency.

Tom Bernthal is engaged to Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg. Bernthal proposed to Sandberg on February 1, 2020 during a visit to Vermejo Park Ranch.

Sandberg confirmed the engagement on Instagram on February 3. She wrote, “Engaged!!! @tom_bernthal, you are my everything. I could not love you more.”

Bernthal and Sandberg reportedly began dating in spring 2019. They made their first public appearance together, on July 21, 2019, at a Garth Brooks concert in Boise, Idaho. The two met through the brother of Sandberg’s late husband, former SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg. Sandberg and Bernthal were reportedly introduced in 2019 by the brother of Goldberg’s late husband, Dave Goldberg.

Sandberg was previously married to Dave Goldberg. Goldberg passed away from a heart attack in May 2015. Sandberg dated Bobby Kotick, the CEO of video game company Activision Blizzard. They started dating in 2016 and reportedly split up in 2019.

Really special time at the @lukebryan concert last night. Luke held a sleeping toddler for an entire song, assisted with an on-stage marriage proposal, and after an energetic set full of his own hit songs, closed the show with a great cover of Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer.” ⁣ ⁣ Before the concert, @tom_bernthal and I were lucky enough to spend some time with him. Luke tragically lost his brother and then his sister. When his sister’s husband also passed away, Luke and his wife, Caroline, adopted his sister’s three children. They’re making the most out of their Option B and creating new memories together by going bass fishing and traveling as a family on tour. ⁣ ⁣ Toward the end of the show, he played my favorite song, “Most People Are Good.” My favorite lyric from the song: “I believe most people are good” (yes!) “and most mamas oughta qualify for sainthood” (not sure, but every mother I know loves this line…)⁣ ⁣ Thank you, Luke, for such a memorable night.
