Tavita Karika Biography
Tavita Karika was a Kiwi reality TV star and personal trainer. He was a former Bachelorette New Zealand star. He appeared on the NZ edition of The Bachelorette in 2020 and was a contestant in the 2018 season of Heartbreak Island.
The former Bachelorette NZ star was competing for the love of bachelorette Lesina Nakhid-Schuster in 2020, but left the show suddenly due to illness. Following his departure from the show, the reality star discovered he was struggling with an inguinal hernia. He said in an interview with Stuff that he would always wonder what could’ve been with Nakhid-Schuster had he stayed on the show. “The thing is, if the hernia didn’t arrive, I was pretty confident in myself,” he said in the interview. “I had started to open up and feel something more towards her, something more real. It was really cool. I believe we had a chance. There was definite potential there.”

Tavita Karika died suddenly in Wellington on Thursday, 29 April 2021 aged 31, ex-Bachelorette contestant Marc Johnson confirmed the news. “I can confirm that Tavita did pass last night around midnight,” Johnson told Stuff. “I can’t tell you if it was before or after because it was just too emotional, and before I knew it four or five hours had passed.
“I got there about 10 minutes into the ambulance crew being at the scene, and about 10 to 15 minutes after that they informed us that they cannot help him. I was with him in his final moments. There was a lot of family and friends.”
Johnson posted a photo of Karika on his Instagram story, paying tribute to his late friend. “RIP my brother I love you and you looked at peace in the end,” Johnson wrote followed by crying and love heart emojis.
