Sasha Farber is an Australian-American professional dancer and choreographer, known for his appearances on “Dancing with the Stars.” Born in Russia, Farber began dancing at the age of 13.
A child of Jewish immigrants from Russia, his family moved to Australia to escape the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. In Sydney, he began studying ballroom dance under the supervision of another Russian immigrant, Marta Kan, whose studio has produced a number of competitive dance champions and was featured in an Australian TV documentary called Ballroom Babies in 2006.
When he was 17 Farber won the Australian Youth Latin Championships twice and represented Australia at the World Latin Championships.
