Ryan McBride is an American attorney and a prosecutor with the Utah County Attorney’s Office. He currently serves as the General Crimes Division Chief at the Utah County Attorney’s Office. He is a seasoned career prosecutor with over two decades of experience handling some of Utah’s most complex and high-profile criminal cases.

Throughout his career, McBride has prosecuted thousands of cases and taken dozens of first-degree felony cases to trial. His notable prosecutions include State v. Danny Logue, State v. Christopher Poulson, and State v. Keith Vallejo. He also led the prosecution in State v. Tyrell Przybycien.

In 2022, the Utah Prosecution Council selected McBride as The Prosecutor of the Year for the State of Utah. In 2024, McBride was named Utah Prosecutor of the Year for his work on State v. Jerrod Baum. In 2025, he successfully tried State v. Kent Barlow.

Beyond the courtroom, McBride plays a key role in advancing the legal profession in Utah. He serves on the Utah Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence, is an adjunct professor at BYU Law School, where he leads a criminal prosecution clinic, and is a core faculty member of the Utah Prosecution Council, where he trains prosecutorsstatewide. He also oversees the Utah County Attorney’s Office training program, providing instruction on topics such as evidence, jury selection, complex case prosecution, ethics, and intimate partner violence.
