Nico O’Reilly is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City. He has progressed right through the Manchester City age-groups since signing with the Academy aged 8.
In the 2021/22 season, Nico played regularly for the Under-18 Premier League title winning side and made the step up for his first taste of EDS football. He continued this form in the 2022/23 season where he made 32 appearances in all competitions, scored 13 goals and assisted 14 as he captained the Under-18 team to Under-18 Premier League glory.
Nico continued his development in the EDS squad for the 2023/24 season, winning the Academy Goal of the Year prize when he scored from the halfway line against Nottingham Forest. In 2024 Nico was one of the few Academy players selected to attend the pre-season tour to the United States. In one of the friendlies, he scored his first senior goal for the Club against Barcelona, days after making his senior debut against Celtic.
The midfielder made his professional senior debut in the 2024/25 season. He started in Manchester City’s Community Shield penalty shoot-out triumph over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium. He made his senior league debut in City’s 6-0 win over Ipswich Town on 19 January 2025.
