Nick Davies, born Nicholas John Sidney Davies, is an auctioneer and antiques expert on BBC’s Flog It! He is currently an independent silver, jewellery and antique consultant. According to his LinkedIn profile, he works as a silver & Jewellery consultant for Fieldings Auctioneers.
Nick started in the antiques trade when he was given a summer job working in an antique jewellers at the age of 17. The summer job became an eight-year apprentiship, which sparked a life long love affair with silver and jewellery and become his career. He went on to work with a local Midlands auctioneer as their Silver and Jewellery specialist.
In 2001, Nick and his business partner Will Farmer set up Fieldings Auctioneers in Stourbridge, West Midlands. In 2023, Nick passed his majority shareholding to Will and the management team, Rachel Holland and Judith Woolgar.
Nick said in a statement: “After 21 wonderful years, I am pleased to announce that I have sold my majority shareholding in Fieldings Auctioneers to Will and the senior management team who will continue to build our reputation for excellence in the auction industry.
“The management team has been an integral part of Fieldings Auctioneers for many years, and I am confident that they are the right team to take the business forward. I am excited about the future and look forward to seeing Fieldings continue to grow and thrive.
“For my part, I will continue as a silver & Jewellery consultant as required.
“I want to assure you that this change in ownership will not affect the day-to-day operations. You can expect the same high-quality service and expertise that you are used to from Fieldings.
“I want to thank all of our clients and staff for their support over the years – I couldn’t have done it without you all! It has been a pleasure working with you, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together.”
