Natalie Dawn Sims Rees is a potter and contestant on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2025. Currently working as a swimming and aqua aerobics instructor, she was previously a professional dancer for 18 years.
Her career took her all over the world, mostly on cruise ships. Her most iconic job was closer to home, when she was a show girl in Paris, doing the cancan at the famous Moulin Rouge. She then became Meneuse de revue’ at the Nouvelle eve. She attended Linda Cook School of Theatre Dance for the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) in 1999 and the London Studio Centre for a diploma in musical Theatre in 2001.
Natalie studied ceramics at A-level but it was only when she stopped dancing that she picked it up again, her work is often inspired by the places she’s visited and the costumes she’s worn.

41-year-old Natalie Dawn Sims Rees is a contestant in Series 8 of The Great Pottery Throw Down, hosted by Siobhan McSweeney. The show follows twelve of Britain’s best home potters as they compete to be crowned best at the wheel – judged by experts Keith Brymer Jones and Richard Miller.
Natalie revealed the news on Instagram, writing: “This dream came true!!! I feel so privileged to be a part of this wonderful Show! With exceptionally talented potters (my new pottery family) and expert Judges! Keith and Rich! Let’s smash it! (Not literally!)”
